APPLICATION AND USE
Preparation BARE FIBERGLASS: Clean with Fiberglass Surface Prep YMA601. Flush with fresh water. To determine if surface is clean, run fresh water over the surface - if the water beads up or separates it is an indication of contamination on the surface. Do not sand before cleaning as this may drive contamination from wax and oil into the surface rather than remove it. Abrade with 120-220 grade (grit) paper. Wipe with Fiberglass Solvent Wash 202. Repair any defects with Interfill Epoxy Filler or Watertite, then sand with 120 grade (grit) paper and clean with Brushing Reducer 2333N. Apply one coat of Epoxy Primekote. Allow to cure overnight. Abrade with 120-220 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue with Brushing Reducer 2333N. Apply a second coat of Epoxy Primekote and allow to dry overnight. Sand with 220-320 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue with Brushing Reducer 2333N.
PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES:

Can be applied directly over two-part catalyzed coatings, that are in good condition, by cleaning with Fiberglass Surface Prep YMA601. Sand with 220 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue with Brushing Reducer 2333N. Perfection should not be applied over conventional single part enamels since the aggressive solvents in Perfection solvents in may cause lifting. Care should be taken not to sand through to the old coating.
BARE WOOD: Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue by wiping with Special Thinner 216. Apply one to two coats of Epoxy Primekote.
BARE METAL: Sandblast or grind, remove sanding residue. Immediately apply Viny-Lux Primewash 353/354 thinned 25% with Viny-Lux Solvent 355. Allow to dry for 1-24 hours. Apply one to two coats of Epoxy Primekote.
CLEAR EPOXY: Clean as above. Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue with Fiberglass Solvent Wash 202. Repair any defects with Interfill Epoxy Filler or Watertite, then sand with 120 grade (grit) paper and clean with Brushing Reducer 2333N. Apply one coat of Epoxy Primekote. Allow to cure overnight. Abrade with 120-220 grade (grit) paper and remove sanding residue with Brushing Reducer 2333N. Apply a second coat of Epoxy Primekote and allow to dry overnight. Sand with 220-320 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue with Brushing Reducer 2333N.
Method

Apply 2-3 coats of Perfection (depending on color) following the proper dry times. Perfection may be applied by roller and brush using the roll and tip method. Sand between coats with 320-360 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue with a rag dampened with Brushing Thinner 2333N.

Hints

Mixing Stir contents of each part prior to mixing. Add Curing Agent to the Base, stir and leave for 20 minutes to allow bubbles to disperse.
Thinner Brush Thinner 2333N.
Cleaner Reducing Solvent 2316N.
Ventilation and Humidity Control Apply in dry, well ventilated conditions. Avoid excessively humid conditions, over 80% relative humidity. Other Best applied at 59F/15C to 77F/25C. For best results when applying by roller, smooth off with a good quality badger hair or Chinese bristle brush. If using as a deck paint, mix in non-skid additive Intergrip. Full hardness is achieved after 7-10 days at 15C/59F. Flattening Agent for 2-Part Polyurethanes YZM914 is available for use with Perfection. See Flattening Agent for 2-Part Polyurethanes datasheet for details. Accelerator for 2-Part Polyurethanes YQA100 may be added to Perfection to accelerate cure and tape times and when contact with rain or dew is likely. See Accelerator for 2-Part Polyurethanes datasheet for details.
Some Important Points

Do not use unless mixed thoroughly with the curing agent at specified ratio. Avoid painting in direct sunlight. Avoid applying late in the evening as condensation can cause a loss of gloss during overnight cure. Product temperature should be minimum 15C/59F and maximum 35C/95F. Ambient temperature should be minimum 5C/40F and maximum 30C/86F. Substrate temperature should be minimum 5C/40F and maximum 30C/86F. DO NOT SPRAY without following proper safety procedures for spray application. Go to www.yachtpaint.com for spray information.
