There are many steps involved in remanufacturing each ATK engine including the GM 5.7 Marine Engine.

The GM 5.7 Marine Engine has been used in marine applications since 1986 and designed to meet or exceed O.E Specifications. Engine parts are vigorously inspected and tested. The engine blocks and cylinder heads are magnafluxed to determine if there are any cracks. Camshafts bearings are examined to ensure accurate center-to center clearance and precision ground or replaced to maintain the O.E. profile. Pistons and rod assemblies are blanched to minimize engine vibration. Timing belts, chains, and gears are all replaced with new parts.

Testing is key and all ATK engines including the GM 5.7 Marine Engine are run through rigorous testing and quality control processes for compression, oil leaks, unusual engine noise or vibrations, and ensure all parts are in good original working order before shipment. Oil pump, oil pump kit, and installation gasket set are supplied with each engine. Free freight available in the continental U.S.and there is no core charge.

Featured procedures include:

  • Engine blocks are magnafluxed, cylinders bored and precision-honed, and main saddles line-honed to exacting O.E. specifications
  • Camshaft bearings line-bored for accurate center-to-center clearance
  • Engine blocks and cylinder heads precision surfaced to insure proper sealing
  • Cylinder heads magnafluxed or dye checked and machined for three-angle valve seats
  • Crankshafts stress-relieved, precision ground and micro-polished for optimum durability and surface finish
  • Camshafts precision ground or replaced with new to maintain the O.E. profile
  • Tested for compression, oil pressure, oil leaks, unusual engine noise, and general operating condition before shipment
  • Oil pump or oil pump kit is supplied with each engine
  • Premium installation gasket set is supplied with each engine
  • All bearings are replaced with new
  • Timing belts, chains, gears are replaced with new
  • All rubber products are O.E. quality (i.e. main seals, valve stem seals, cam seals)
  • All ATK remanufacturing facilities are ISO 9001 and QS 9000 certified
