Boat Safety Equipment

While most boaters enjoy season after season of trouble-free fun on the water, USCG and Federal government regulations mandate the use of safety equipment on every voyage. Wholesale Marine wants every trip to be safe and carefree. We carry every regulation-compliant component for every craft. Our extensive boat safety equipment inventory includes:

Alarms & Detectors: Avoid catastrophe with Marine Technologies’ propane fume, fire, flood detectors and carbon monoxide alarm.

Distress Signals: We carry whistles and the ACR Emergency Distress Strobe Light that provides up to 56 hours of use while creating a flash that may be seen for over 3.5 miles.

Ditch Bags: On every voyage stow all important personal items and survival gear where it can easily be mustered in case of emergency. The ACR RapiDitch Express bag is waterproof and highly visible. Make it part of your contingency plan on every voyage.

Fire Extinguishers: we carry a selection of fire extinguishers from Kidde including their Mariner series.

First Aid: from sunburn to simple cuts and scrapes, most injuries suffered while on board can be treated from a well-stocked first aid kit. For your convenience, we carry a selection of medical kits from Orion, AMK. Cruiser, Offshore and Davis.

Horns, Whistles & Bells: navigation rules require sound signals when meeting, crossing and overtaking other vessels. These sonic devices are also required during decreased visibility and while at anchor. From mounted electric horns to push-button operated, compressed air canisters, Wholesale Marine has the sound signalling safety devices every boat requires.

Life Jackets/PFD’s: recreational vessels are required to carry a life jacket for each person onboard. These are to be worn when the boat is underway. Passenger craft over 16’ must also carry a throwable device, such as a life ring. USCG regulations state that every life jacket must be:

  • USCG-approved

  • In usable condition

  • Sized correctly to each user

  • Properly stowed when not in use

Life Rafts: Jim-Buoy provides USCG-approved life floats for up to 22 people.

Life Rings & Buoys: Wholesale Marine carries regulation buoys and life rings from Cal-June, TaylorMade, Kent Commercial, O’Brien and Oynx.

Locator Beacons: We carry ACR Emergency Position Radio Beacons from the first name in marine safety electronics.
