hello. i am a total newbie. i just bought a boat with a 89 black max xr4 150. runs great. however, i get the steady beep alarm all the time. i have ran the boat for hours and have not blown it up yet! so i am pretty sure it is something electrical. any ideas? any help is appreciated. thanks

The constant tone is the overheat alarm. There are a couple of things to check. The first is to make sure the engine is pumping water. Next is to check the sensor which I believe is in the top of the Cyl head. If the sensor is good, then start checking the wiring harness. If the circut is grounded, then the alarm will sound.
