Thread: Port of Call

    Port of Call

I am getting ready to put the Hailing Port on my boat transom. I know that legally a person can put what ever city they choose as their port. I find it odd that people put their home city as the port even when the city doesn't even have a port - no lake or river. I would love to hear the forum's debate on should the Hailing Port be where the boat is moored or a person's hometown?

I like to see people put their home cities. It shows the the diversity of the boating community.

I don't know about the diversity thing, but my family does find it very interesting to see what all cities the boaters are coming from!

I like the idea of having your home city on the back of your boat. It is fun to see all of the people from all aver the country enjoying the water.

    Thumbs up

My kids like reading the ports (as do I) just as much as they like looking at out of state license plates when we are on a family road trip!

Your home city and state so if your boat gets lost they can bring it to that place and look for the owners chances are someone will reconize the boat near the port of call too so it is a what you like thing! mine is the same as the port of call !
