Most paint products require a thinner for cleanup and/or reduction of viscosity for proper application. Pettit manufactures a wide range of thinners to accommodate spraying and brushing in all types of conditions. When properly used, none of the qualities of the paint film will be affected. Other thinners accelerate the drying time of coatings to facilitate spray application or painting in cool weather. Pettit wash solvents are used to clean surfaces of sanding residue, grease and contaminants before painting. However, once the surface is solvent cleaned, make certain the solvent has “flashed off” or thoroughly evaporated from the surface prior to applying any paint. If not, it may interfere with the proper drying of the first finish coat of paint. Taken From the Pettit Paint Company. Product Information: Thinners & Solvents.
