this prevents many situations including the ball becoming unscrewed since it will hold the ball and shaft in the hitch since the ball can not come out. since my kids r seated in the back this is great safety for us all. even enables you to move out of an uncomfortable angle preventing full hitch from locking since it holds everything in place till you are all level and pin appropriatly. (very short distance like a few feet) please tow safely for everyones sake!
