Product Description:
The Rule-Mate series of automated bilge pumps feature a pump and a non-mercury float switch in a single, compact housing. When the float rises, the pump turns on. There is no on/off cycling and therefore, no power use until the pump comes on. The pump remains on until the float drops and the pump senses no load against the impeller. Thoughtfully designed, Rule-Mate® pumps can be used in practically all bilge pumping applications.

Strong pump, 2.12.2009

Having forgotten to loosen the stern trailer straps on my fishing boat, I discovered my new Rule pump was a good strong one. It pumped water out fast. However, they sell this pump without a fuse holder & require that one be used. So, if you order it thinking it comes complete, it doesn't. You will need a water tight, inline fuse holder for the hot wire. Why they couldn't include the 50 cent fuse holder is beyond me. It just adds time to installation looking locally for a watertight fuse holder. Other than that, seems to be a good, strong pump for tight places.
