Fortress Marine Aluminum Fluke Anchor

Fortress Marine Anchors represent the pinnacle of anchor technology, combining lightweight construction with exceptional holding power. These precision-engineered anchors are manufactured from high-tensile aluminum alloy, delivering strength comparable to steel at a fraction of the weight. Available in models ranging from the 4-pound FX7 for smaller vessels to the 69-pound FX125 for boats up to 150 feet, each anchor features adjustable fluke angles to accommodate different bottom conditions. Set at 32 degrees, they excel in clay, mud, or sand, while the 45-degree setting is optimal for soft mud. The anchors' sharp edges ensure quick penetration and superior holding power, with test results showing they can withstand pull loads over 200 times their weight. Their corrosion-resistant, rust-proof finish and ability to disassemble for storage make them ideal for both primary and storm anchor applications. Each Fortress anchor comes backed by a lifetime parts replacement warranty, ensuring long-term reliability for your vessel.

Key Features:

  • Fortress Marine Anchors are manufactured with lightweight high tensile aluminum alloy that is as strong as steel.
  • Corrosion-resistant durable anodized finish.
  • Rust proof finish
  • Sharper than heavy-duty dull-edged steel anchors
  • Disassembles for easy storage
  • Great spare or storm anchor
  • Features Lifetime Hassle-Free Parts Replacement Warranty

NOTE: Boat size recommendations factor in average windage and proportions in 30 knots of wind, average bottom conditions, and moderate protection from open seas. Also, note that loads in 42 knots of wind ‘weigh’ twice as much as in 30 knots.

We recommend using a three-strand nylon rope, 6-12 ft (2-4 m) of chain, and a minimum of 5:1 scope. Also, a minimum of 6 ft (2 m) of chain should be used for every 25 ft (8 m) of water depth. For storm conditions use an anchor one or two sizes larger.

Why Fortress?

The Fortress Marine Anchor Advantage

  • Perhaps the best recommendation for Fortress marine anchors is from the U.S. Navy which tests leading anchors. Their results proved that Fortress anchors out-performed much heavier steel anchors, that Fortress anchors withstood pull loads that averaged over 200 times their own weight ... without causing serious damage to the anchors’ structural integrity.

Stronger Holding Power

  • For over 20 years and in test after test, Fortress marine anchors have outperformed substantially heavier steel anchors in holding power tests conducted around the world. From older, well-established anchor brands like the Bruce, CQR, Danforth, or Delta to newer anchors like Manson, Rocna, Spade, and Ultra, the Fortress anchors have consistently demonstrated that their superior design and lightweight alloy can provide outstanding performance at a fraction of the weight.

Faster Setting

  • Easy handling aluminum alloy Fortress anchors are precision-machined for sharpness and quick penetration into common sea bottoms, ensuring faster-setting performance.

Lighter Design

  • Precisely machined interlocking components made from a high-tensile, corrosion-resistant, aluminum-magnesium alloy have no welds to weaken the metal and produce superior holding power while creating a lighter, easy-to-handle anchor.

Quick Assembly and Easily Disassembled

  • Lightweight, fast-setting, and reliable, Fortress marine anchors disassemble quickly for easy storage, which makes them ideal for tight quarters where compact storage is a requisite. Fortress anchors assemble just as quickly, making them an ideal choice for spare or storm anchors. Precision-machined interlocking components made from a high-tensile, corrosion-resistant, aluminum-magnesium alloy have no welds to weaken the metal. Thereby Fortress anchors offer superior holding power while creating a lighter, easy-to-handle anchor. In the unlikely event that any piece of the anchor becomes damaged, the unique assembly/disassembly feature allows the damaged or missing part of your anchor to be easily accessed for parts replacement.
