Jet Ski Anchors for Shallow and Deep Water Anchoring
When choosing an anchor, it’s important to consider where you plan on anchoring and what bottom conditions you’ll be anchoring in. When anchoring in shallow water just off the beach, sand bag anchors and beach anchors are both popular options.
Sand bag anchors are one of the most popular styles of jet ski anchors. They’re compact, easy to transport, and lightweight. The Gen3 Sand Anchor Kit includes an anchor bag that can be filled with sand or rocks, and a rope and buoy to attach to your vessel. Although sand bag anchors are convenient, they’re not the best option for rough waters.
If waters are rough near shore, or you want a more secure anchoring option, consider a beach anchor. Beach anchors, also known as beach screw anchors, are screwed into the sand to provide a secure hold. The Tie Down Mate is a durable option with a removable handle to make stowing easy.
For deep water anchoring, we recommend a grapnel anchor or small fluke anchor. Grapnel anchors work great in rivers or waters with rocky bottoms. For sandy bottoms, vinyl-coated fluke anchors are great for when you want to stop for a swim or to fish. Both fluke and grapnel anchors are available with a storage bag and rope.
