The SSC62 Steering Cable is a standard quick connect rotary steering cable. It features a snap connector for easy installation and a trapped nut that stays in place during cable routing. Featuring the patented Quick Connect Cable hook-ups, the Teleflex QC II Replacement Steering Cable Assemblies are intended to replace the SSC62 (used in Safe-T QC & NFB Systems) and SSC72 (used in Safe-T TS & Big-T Systems). These assemblies have been designed to fit most post-1968 Teleflex rotary helms. SeaStar steering cables are intended for use with inboards, outboards, and stern drives with either single or twin motors.
Direct replacement for Teleflex Marine SSC62 series original factory steering cables. SeaStar Solutions replaced Teleflex Marine and has been acquired by Dometic Group.

Replacement of Existing Cable: If possible, locate the part number stamped on the plastic jacket of the old cable. If the old cable has been removed, you will have toi measure for its replacement as follows:
For Rotary Steering Cable Replacement, Measure Existing Cable as follows: Measure plastic cable jacket (“Y” dimension, shown in above drawing) in inches, add 18″, and round up to the next foot. Order that length cable.
New Installation: Measure cable routing path from wheel center line to engine connection, as follows:
A = Centerline of wheel to gunwale (or deck, if routed downward)
B = Dash to transom
C = Gunwale to the centerline of cable connection at the centered tiller.
For Cable Installations through the Engine Tilt Tube: Add A, B & C + 6″, then round up to the next foot. Order that length cable.
For Cables Mounted to Transom, Splashwell, or Stringer: Add A, B & C, then subtract 6″ and round up to the next foot. Order that length cable.
TYPICAL SINGLE STATION ROUTING
The above diagram illustrates a single-cable, starboard drive push-pull mechanical cable system. For different systems, or you have any questions about mechanical steering, please contact Dometic (Mechanical) Technical Service at (610)-495-7011 or www.dometic.com
Cable routings (such as those found on pontoon boats) may vary from this drawing. Confirm length by laying a garden hose or similar object) along the cable path and measure the run from the wheel to the engine connection point.
