Trac Automatic Bilge Pumps can be wired ozne of (3) three ways. A 3-position (AUTO/OFF/MANUAL) panel switch is recommended. You may also install with a 2-position (ON/OFF) switch or no panel switch.
3-Position Panel Switch(AUTO/OFF/MANUAL)
The ON position is a momentary ON, meaning the switch has to be held in the ON position to test the pump or make it run for a few seconds. As the switch is released, it springs back to the OFF position.
The AUTO position is where the pump normally operates. In this position, the pump’s internal float switch makes the pump turn ON and OFF as the water rises and falls.
2-Position Panel Switch (ON/OFF)
When using the 2-position switch, the pump is in AUTO mode when the switch is ON. When ON, the pump has power, so if approximately 2” water enters the bilge, the pump will turn on automatically.
When the switch is OFF, power is interrupted to the pump and it will not turn on when water is present.
No Panel Switch
When using no switch, the pump is in AUTO mode when wired to a power source. If approximately 2” water enters the bilge, the pump will turn on automatically and off when the pump begins to suck air.
