3 Strand Twisted Nylon Dock Line
All our dock lines are highly elastic to absorb shock loads, resistant to rot, mildew and marine growth. All dock lines have a 12" splice on one end, except 5/8" lines, which have a 15" splice on one end. The line is manufactured from 100% nylon, 4 stage with balanced piled yarn construction. Holds knots well and has excellent resistance to abrasion. Three strand twisted nylon rope lasts as much as 10 times longer than manila rope and 5 times longer than polypropylene rope. Long working life makes nylon rope very economical. This high strength resilient nylon rope has the ability to absorb sudden shock; as well as excellent flex and superb resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and marine organisms. It is unaffected by mildew and rot and can be stored when wet. Some of the many uses include marine dock and anchor lines, shipping and industrial work, vehicle tow rope, tie-downs, farm and livestock usage. This rope is easy to splice and is very common for general purpose use. The first synthetic fiber rope manufactured.

This dock line is as I expected, however, the photo seems to show whipping at the loop and the bitter end. There is no whipping, which in retrospect, would have been unrealistic for the price. The photo should be changed. I whipped the dock lines myself at bitter end and at loop to keep from unraveling. Takes a few minutes for each whip and now the lines are really great.

I bought 4 new lines at a marina. During a 2 day rough weather period the lines were rubbing against our dock posts and were abraded more than half way through. This was after 2 weeks of use.
I ordered 4 new 1/2" x 20' nylon dock lines.
These lines are 1/3 the cost of the marina's and after a month of use have shown no sign of wear.
