Rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Wipe a small area with a clean rag that has been wetted with Fiberglass Solvent Wash 202. While the surface is still wet, wipe with a clean, dry rag. Continue this process until the entire surface has been cleaned. Abrade with 80-120 grade (grit) paper. Wipe with Fiberglass Solvent Wash 202. Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue.OSMOTIC BLISTER REPAIR: 1. Remove all antifouling paint from the bottom of the boat and open all blistered areas either by physical grinding or by professionally sandblasting. Complete removal of the gelcoat is not necessary, provided the remaining gelcoat is solidly attached to the underlying laminate. 2. Scrub the entire underwater surface with fresh water and rinse clean to dilute/neutralize any fluid in the surface voids. 3. Grind out any blistered areas which are not solid laminate. 4. Allow hull to dry as long as possible to ensure all water and water absorbing materials have left the hull. If unsure the hull is dry, allow more time. Apply Interprotect 1000/1001 to all areas that have been blistered, cracked or the gelcoat removed. Apply Interprotect Watertite. Sand smooth.BARE METAL: Blast to near white metal surface (Sa 2.5). Immediately apply Viny-Lux Primewash 353/354 thinned 25% with Viny-Lux Solvent 355. Allow to dry for 1-24 hours.Method For optimum flow, apply paint 15 mins to 4 hours after mixing. Apply 5-7 coats on bare fiberglass, blistered fiberglass and all metals.HintsMixing Stir contents of each part prior to mixing. Pour Curing Agent (in can under hat) into Base and stir well. Wait a minimum of 15 mins for the air bubbles to disperse. Mix ratio is 7:1 by volume, as supplied.Thinner Brush Thinner 2333N. Spray - Reducing Solvent 2316N.Thinning Up to 5% thinner may be used to ease application.Cleaner Bare Fiberglass - Fiberglass Solvent Wash 202. Tip Size: 1.8-2.2 mm/70-85 thou.Other VC Tar2 takes 5 days to cure fully and the surface may not be scratch resistant until then. Launch the boat according to the recommended launch time of the antifouling applied. Sanding may be required in a dusty environment. Some Important Points Follow drying times carefully or cracking may occur. Do not use below 5C. Do not apply when there is a chance of condensation forming on the substrate. Do not use above the waterline. Do not apply more than one coat in any 24 hour period if the temperature is below 13C/55F. Product temperature should be minimum 5C/40F and maximum 35C/95F. Ambient temperature should be minimum 5C/40F and maximum 35C/95F. Substrate temperature should be minimum 1C above dew point and maximum 35C.Compatibility/Substrates For use on fiberglass and metals. Apply to clean, dry, properly prepared surfaces only. For use below the waterline only.Number of Coats 5-7.Coverage (Theoretical) - 460 (ft/Gal)Recommended DFT 2.0 mils dryRecommended WFT 3.1 mils wetApplication Methods Brush, Roller, Conventional Spray, Airless SprayTRANSPORTATION,STORAGE AND SAFETY INFORMATIONGENERAL INFORMATION:Exposure to air and extremes of temperature should be avoided.
