Interlux Pre-Kote Plus Boat Primer
As one of the largest manufacturers of marine paints and primers, Interlux is a name you can trust for high-quality products that provide long-lasting protection for your boat finishes. The innovative technology has been leading the way for over a century in boat primers and paints, including the Interlux Pre-Kote Plus boat primer. Interlux’s commitment to research and development has helped to create a high-performance boat primer that has stood the test of time.
Pre-Kote Plus is a one part primer and undercoat that offers substrate protection with an ultra-smooth finish. Designed for use above the waterline Pre-Kote plus can be directly applied to most substrates including properly prepared metal. The lower VOC formula allows for easier application with improved flow. DIY customers will find Pre-Kote Plus to offer excellent flow, leveling, and easy to sand. Pre-Kote Plus is easy to use and the perfect foundation for your topcoat.
For an extra smooth application should be done with a brush or roller, with a conventional sprayer being acceptable too. Interlux primer has a reduced working time with great substrate protection. It is recommended to apply 2-4 coats, depending on desired thickness. Make sure to correct surface imperfections before application. Sanding between each application is recommended for optimal application. Interlux Pre-Kote Plus is available in quarts and gallons. Each gallon covers ~440 sq/ft.

Application Information
For Steel & Aluminum apply 3-4 coats, for additional substrate protection apply 1 coat thinned Interprotect 2000E prior to application of Pre-Kote Plus. For Fiberglass add 1-2 coats. Apply 3-4 coats to wood. Additional coasts of Pre-Kote Plus will result in an increases level of substrate protection for all substrates. Depending on roller used, an additional coat may be required to achieve recommended total film thickness. If excessive sanding practice is used then additional coats will be required to ensure substrate protection & achieve full opacity. To give extra depth of color, blend the final coat of Pre-Kote Plus in a 50:50 blend with an approved Interlux topcoat.
