Constructed of Mercury's revolutionary new X7 alloy allows for a 30% strength increase and 4 times the durability of conventional steel. The hub kit is sold separately. The Fury 14 x 23P uses a Flo-Torq II hub system, and the correct kit depends on your engine's prop shaft size. You can identify your shaft size by counting splines: 15 splines indicates a 1.00" shaft; 19 splines indicates a 1.25" shaft, which requires the Flo-Torq SSR HD kit. Wholesale Marine carries the compatible Flo-Torq hub kits alongside this prop.
The 14 refers to the blade diameter in inches; 23 is the pitch, the theoretical distance the prop travels forward per revolution. Each inch of pitch change affects engine RPM by roughly 150–200 RPM. The goal is to select a pitch that allows your engine to reach its manufacturer-specified wide-open throttle RPM range under a typical load. If you're currently running a 24P and under-revving, dropping to the 23P is a logical first step.
The Fury is for Mercury outboards 200 HP and above and pairs especially well with the Mercury Pro XS. It fits a range of Mercury 4-stroke outboards, from 90–115 HP Command Thrust (note: Command Thrust gearcase only, not standard 90–115 HP) through 400 HP, with the appropriate Flo-Torq II hub kit for each application. Use Wholesale Marine's Propeller Finder to confirm fitment for your engine.
The PVS is a 3-hole exhaust venting system built into the hub that lets you tune hole shot and top-end performance without swapping props. Opening more holes reduces bow-down resistance for a quicker plane; closing holes increases grip and top-end bite. It's especially useful for dialing in performance as load, altitude, or conditions change.
The Fury (3-blade) prioritizes top-end speed and quick hole shot on lighter performance rigs: bass boats, flats boats, and bay boats. The Fury 4 adds a fourth blade for better mid-range grip, more consistent handling under heavier loads, and steadier performance in rough water or tight turns. If top-end speed on a light tournament rig is the priority, the 3-blade is the right choice.
Yes. Mercury Marine covers this propeller with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects.
