Megaware Skeg Guards are an inexpensive replacement for a broken skeg. These skeg guards can also be used to protect and prevent damage to your motor's skeg.

High-quality, marine grade 316 stainless steel construction is but one of the features that set Megaware’s SkegGuard apart from the competition. The design includes a reinforced wear-tab to protect where the skeg is most vulnerable skeg. This 3mm thickened lower plate is designed to withstand damage/abrasion from rocks and debris or damage when trailering or using a ramp. The skeg guard conforms to the lower unit to minimize drag or compromised performance. A drain hole prevents water collection/ stagnation. Self-locking the Megaware SkegGuard installs without specialized tools in minutes. Cost-effective, the skeg guard is dependable and will save hundreds of dollars in skeg repairs over its service life.

When replacing a broken skeg, install the Megaware SkegGuard on a lower unit with as little as 2-inches of remaining skeg. This process produces a stronger bond and is far more affordable than welding and replacing a lower skeg unit.

Skeg Guard Installation Instructions:

Secured with self-locking hardware, installation takes less than 10 minutes. If your skeg is already broken, Megaware's SkegGuard can be installed with as little as 2 inches of skeg remaining.

• Using a mallet (leather, rubber or wooden), place the Megaware SkegGuard on the skeg and gently tap on it to get it started. Once in place, drive it on with the mallet until fully seated.
• Using the two pre-drilled mounting holes in the SkegGuard as pilot holes, drill the skeg using a 1/4" drill bit.
• Install the stainless steel hardware using the hex key tools supplied with the product.
