The size options use a two-number format: the first number is the retracted length (bracket to bracket), the second is the stroke (how far it extends), and the total is the fully extended length. For example, "20"+6"=26"" means the lift is 20" when closed and 26" when fully open. To size correctly, measure the distance between your mounting points when the hatch is closed. That is your retracted length. Then confirm that the stroke is sufficient to fully open your hatch at the angle you need. Note that the total installed length is measured from the top bracket to the bottom bracket.
The clutchless ball screw design is self-locking. It won't drift and holds the hatch in any position along its stroke without requiring a separate lock or prop. This is a key advantage over gas struts and some older actuator designs that can creep over time.
No. The ball screw spins freely at both ends of its travel when the hatch is fully opened or fully closed, which eliminates the need for limit switches entirely. This also removes a common failure point, burned out motors from running against a hard stop, that affects other electric actuator designs.
Yes. The ball screw runs in sync on dual lift applications without binding or drifting independently. This makes it suitable for larger or heavier hatches that require support at two points.
The unit draws 10 amps at 12 volts. Each hatch lift comes with 2-foot leads and Deutsch connectors. A rocker switch for control is sold separately. Lenco's single-cylinder hatch lift rocker switch connects via the Deutsch plug system.
The Lenco Electric Hatch Lift is CE certified, ABYC compliant, and O-ring sealed to 100 psi for waterproofing. It's backed by a two-year manufacturer's warranty against defects. All materials are non-corrosive, making it suitable for both fresh and saltwater environments.
