Add to CartThe Blue Sea Auto Charging Relay is a 500 Amp magnetic latching (bi-stable) relay that automatically combines batteries during charging and isolates batteries when discharging and when starting engine. The manual control switch provides an added level of safety allowing control with or without power, and offering LOCK OFF capability for servicing. The ML-ACR relay draws very low current in the "ON" or "OFF" states, and draws moderate current for a very short time when changing state. Start Isolation (SI) can be configured for temporary isolation of house loads from engine circuit during engine cranking to protect sensitive electronics. Engine Isolation (EI) can be configured for isolation of two engines while both are running to protect engine electronics and maximize alternator output. The Blue Seas Auto Charging Relay also features label recesses for circuit identification.

What is the Blue Sea ML-ACR Auto Charging Relay w/ Manual Control used for?
The Blue Sea ML-ACR Auto Charging Relay automatically combines two battery banks during charging and isolates them during discharge and engine starting. It also allows the battery banks to be paralleled for emergency starting and includes a manual control switch for additional control during servicing.
How does the Blue Sea ML-ACR manage two battery banks?
The ML-ACR uses dual sensing to detect charging voltage on both battery banks. It automatically combines the banks when charging and isolates them when discharging or when starting the engine, helping manage the charging of two large battery banks.
What does the manual control switch do on the Blue Sea ML-ACR?
The included manual control switch provides control of the relay with or without power and offers a LOCK OFF capability for servicing. The ML-Series remote control Contura switch is also included.
What are the Start Isolation and Engine Isolation functions on the Blue Sea ML-ACR?
Start Isolation can be configured to temporarily isolate house loads from the engine circuit during engine cranking. Engine Isolation can be configured to isolate two engines while both are running. These functions are designed to protect engine electronics and maximize alternator output as described by the manufacturer.
What is the current rating of the Blue Sea ML-ACR Auto Charging Relay?
The Blue Sea ML-ACR has a 500A continuous rating and a 700A intermittent rating for up to 5 minutes. It is rated for 300A of live current switching at 12V DC and uses 3/8"-16 (M10) terminal studs.
What are the electrical specifications of the Blue Sea ML-ACR?
The Blue Sea ML-ACR is designed for 12V DC systems and has an operating current of 13mA. It draws less than 7.0A while changing state. The specified cable size to meet its ratings is 4/0 AWG x 2, and the relay uses 20 AWG wire for its control circuit.
