Michigan Wheel high quality propellers are made with certified virgin ingot metals, resulting in more consistent, durable boat propellers. Michigan Wheel has been a trusted name amongst boaters for quality boat propellers, and with Wholesale Marine’s Boat Propeller Finder, it’s easier than ever to find a Michigan Wheel Propeller for your boat!
Michigan Wheel Aluminum vs Stainless
Although most boats come factory equipped with an aluminum propeller, you can upgrade to a stainless-steel propeller. Aluminum propellers are relatively inexpensive, easier to repair, and can last for many years under normal circumstances. Stainless steel propellers are more expensive, but are much stronger and durable than aluminum. Stainless steel propellers can deliver ultimate top speed and better acceleration.
When choosing a Michigan Wheel aluminum propeller, you will have your choice between Vortex or Michigan Match. The Michigan Vortex series features high performance blade geometry and interchangeability with the Mercury Flo-Torq II System. Michigan Match propellers feature a NAVAL brass spindle with a rubber cushioned hub which absorbs impact and the stress caused by shifting gears. Michigan Match propellers typically cost less than the OEM propeller you’re replacing, so they make a great weekend-saving spare!
Michigan Wheel also offers great stainless-steel options in form of their Michigan Apollo and Michigan Ballistic propellers. While both series are high performing, the Vortex is more versatile and is available in 3 blade, 4 blade, and a large diameter 3 blade. If peak efficiency and minimal drag is what you’re after, the Ballistic Series might be the propeller for you. Ballistic propellers feature a Power Tip, which improves strength and reduces power loss.
