Stators serve to supply energy to the ignition system on outboard motors. The stator works with magnets and a flywheel system to create an electrical current that charges the batteries. A faulty stator can cause the engine to not run, stall out frequently, miss fire and also cause the battery not to charge. The stator on outboard engines come in various outputs from 6 AMP to 40 AMP.

The Mercury Mariner Stator is a 6 Cycle 40 AMP model made by CDI. These stators are designed to have tighter windings with no nylon overcoating to help reduce the chances of overheating. All CDI stators are designed with electrical components made of the most corrosion proof parts. The Mercury Mariner Stator is also insulated with a high temperature compound to increase durability and extend the life of your engine.
