      Johnson Outboard Starter Solenoids

Electrical starting issues can come from a variety of sources. Low battery output, sliced or corroded electric supply cables, or a bad solenoid can make starting your engine a difficult proposition. After some basic troubleshooting, you can find replacement Johnson outboard starter solenoids at Wholesale Marine.

The solenoid on an outboard engine has a simple but important function of transmitting battery voltage to the engine's starter. When the contact inside the starter solenoid activates electronically, a circuit opens which passes electrical current from the battery to the starter, thereby turning the engine over. Shorts or disconnected wires on the solenoid will prevent the engine from starting as the required voltage is not transmitted to the starter. By using a voltmeter, you can determine which element in your engine is faulty. While relatively inexpensive, your Johnson outboard starter solenoid can fail over time and prevent engine ignition.

Our team of boating experts will help you find the right Johnson outboard starter solenoid for the model and year of your boat.  Whatever your boat requires, Wholesale Marine likely has it in stock.
