Quicksilver 858004Q High Performance Oil Filter is a replacement oil filter designed for select MerCruiser sterndrive and inboard gasoline engines manufactured by General Motors and Mercury Marine. This high-efficiency filter helps remove harmful oil contaminants to protect engine components and support reliable engine performance.

Featuring advanced synthetic cleansing filter media, this filter removes up to 97% of oil contaminants while maintaining excellent filtration efficiency. The anti-drain back valve helps ensure proper lubrication during startup and reduces dry starts, while the heavy-duty metal shell provides increased durability and corrosion resistance for marine environments.

Installation Instructions:

• Unscrew old filter and clean mounting base. Be sure old gasket is removed from the mounting base.
• Apply a thin coat of oil to filter gasket. Make sure gasket is seat properly in base of filter.
• Screw on until gasket contacts base and tighten two-thirds to one turn.
• Use an acceptable filter wrench, if necessary; do not exceed one turn.
• Refill crankcase; run engine and check for leaks.
• Check oil level.

Change your oil filter after every 50 hours of normal use. See your engine service and maintenance manual for further details.
