The SeaStar Xtreme control cable is designed with a proprietary splendid core that allows these control cables to deliver a smooth and efficient motion with little to no loss of motion even when following the most complex cable routes. The unique features of the Xtreme control cables outperforms anything the competition makes. They’re ideal for racing or speed boats and are manufactured for Johnson, Evinrude, OMC 1979, or newer engines.
Direct replacement for Teleflex Marine CCX205 series original factory control cables. SeaStar Solutions replaced Teleflex Marine and has been acquired by Dometic Group.

Features:
This cable is for Johnson, Evinrude, OMC, and Gale outboards with BRP/OMC controls from 1979 to present. It is not compatible with pre-1979 Johnson/Evinrude engines; those use the 400 Series (CC170) cable, which is a separate product. If you're unsure of your engine year, check the serial number plate on the engine.
It's a direct replacement for the Teleflex Marine CC205 series (479-type) control cables, which were the original factory fitment on these Johnson/Evinrude/OMC applications. SeaStar Solutions acquired Teleflex Marine and has since been acquired by Dometic Group; the CCX205 Xtreme designation carries through all three brand eras and is fully compatible with existing hardware.
For replacing an existing cable, measure the plastic cable jacket from tip to tip in inches, add 30 inches, and round up to the next foot. That is your replacement length. The part number suffix indicates length: CCX20510 is 10 feet, CCX20515 is 15 feet, and so on. For a new installation, measure from the control head attachment point along the full cable routing path to the engine connection, then round up. Cables are available from 6 to 50 feet.
The CCX205 Xtreme uses a patent-pending splined core that fits closely within the cable liner to dramatically reduce lost motion; the slack or play between what you do at the control head and what happens at the engine. Standard cables have a looser core-to-liner fit, which becomes noticeable on longer runs or installations with multiple bends. The Xtreme is also built for complex routing paths and is rated for racing or performance applications where precise, responsive throttle and shift feel matters.
No. The CCX205 is purpose-built for Johnson/Evinrude/OMC BRP controls and uses the existing connection components; no adapter kits are needed. It's a drop-in replacement for boats already equipped with 479-type cables.
The CCX205 has a 4-inch minimum bend radius. Bending the cable tighter than this during routing can cause friction, stiffness, and premature wear. The 4-inch minimum (compared to 8 inches required by older Lubri-Core construction cables) gives you more flexibility when routing through tight spaces in the hull.
