A: the cable would be in wrong is this a rotary style system or rack system

Q: I'm replacing the steering cable on a 30 year old West Point 21 foot center console. She currently has a Teleflex single helm model SH5023 for the helm which has a nut connecting the cable housing to the helm body. Do I need this adapter to use the newer quick connect steering cable.

A: If you have the old Style cables with the threaded ends you would need to use the Quick connect converter to make the Quick connect connection a threaded connection.
