      Boat Fuel Hoses

Boat fuel lines and hoses in any boat’s fuel systems are essential in ensuring safe boat operation and trouble-free performance. High-quality fuel assembly components must be securely attached to prevent potentially dangerous boat fuel lines leaks. Find the top names in boat fuel lines and hoses including AttwoodTempo MarineMoeller MarineSierra Marine ProductsMPIBennett Marine, and Whitecap Industries. It is vital to understand marine fuel hose-related issues to assure these components are fully functional and safe or if these components are in need of replacement.

      Directional Flow Issues

Prior to the boating season, it’s important to make sure that where the fuel hose is secured to the tank that the arrow aligns with the direction of the fuel flow. It is fairly common to install a fuel hose backwards. It is often mistakenly overlooked or a flow issue is misdiagnosed as a clogged hose. Be sure to double-check for the flow direction arrow whenever your boat fuel tank hose is installed.

      Hose Check Valve Malfunction

When there is plenty of fuel in the tank, but no hose pressure, the first place to start is to troubleshoot the check valve:

      1. Remove the engine’s fuel hose connector and insert the end of a paperclip into the end with the steel ball.
      2. Remove (you will likely have to replace) the metal hose clamp to inspect the tank connector plug.
      3. Check for suction at the tank end by covering the hose end with your finger. If there is no suction, the check valve is faulty and will require replacement.
