Each can be used to lift your motor higher out of the water, which can be beneficial, especially in shallow water.

Here’s a brief overview: Fixed jack plates are just as the name implies; they can be used to lift your engine up into a fixed position. Typically, they are the most economical option for boats, but are limited in overall functionality. The T-H Marine Hi-Jacker Fixed Jack Plate is great for long shaft outboards or V6 outboards up to 150 HP.

      Manual jack plates are a more versatile option than the fixed versions. They can be adjusted manually to find the perfect height for your engine. Simply loosen the bolts to raise or lower the engine, and then tighten the bolts back.
