The product actually seems to perform better than OEM. However I have questions on the way they ran the wires to connect the coils. They looped one wire over the top of the coil. This leaves less than 1/8" between it and the flywheel. Doesn't seem like this is a good idea. When this heats up I'm worried it might hit the flywheel and then short out after it takes off the insulation.
At 1st I was a bit hesitant on the unit as it looks like the design is cheaper than the original. This unit does not have the fancy looking casing around it but I believe it's probably to get the best heat dispersion. The OEM design would act like an insulator and cause more heat built up in the part. So while it's a bit naked looking I think it's for the best.
Overall my engine hasn't ran this smooth in 10+ years. I replaced the rectifier along with the stator. As IMO just the best practice.
I have a perfect charging voltage now and insanely smooth idle on my 2 stroke tower of power.
I'll probably pull the flywheel off and inspect the stator after a few trips out to see if that wire is going to hit.
