Yamaha Propellers

When the propeller on your Yamaha outboard or sterndrive requires replacement, turn to Wholesale Marine. We stock replacement aluminum Yamaha propellers by Michigan Wheel that feature high-performance blade geometry and blades that have been precision-balanced and powder-coated to resist corrosion. Michigan Wheel’s XHS exchangeable hub system ensures a secure fit and optimal performance. Wholesale Marine recommends that boaters keep a spare propeller on board. We carry spare and replacement propellers for Yamaha outboards from 2-20 HP, 25-50 HP, 55-100 Hp, 105-150 HP and over 150 HP. Replacement 4-blade sterndrive propellers for your Yamaha are also available.

If you are not certain which replacement propeller is right for your craft, there are several ways to find out. You can use our parts finder, or give us a call and together we’ll locate the best choice for your boating needs. Here’s some additional advice and considerations you’ll find helpful when selecting a spare or replacement Yamaha propeller.

Propeller Terms

This is the distance a propeller travels in one full revolution. A low pitch provides greater acceleration and a higher pitch has a greater potential for higher speeds.

The blade angle in relation to the propeller barrel/center. This is expressed in degrees. High rake propellers are preferred for high engine mounts. Low rake propellers cause less engine strain.

This is expressed by diameter and pitch. Example: 14” x 17” propeller has a 14” diameter and 17” of pitch. If x 3 or x 4 is present, this means the number of propeller blades.

These have cups (pertains to the lip on the blade tip), geometry (the actual blade shape) and surface area (the greater the blade area, the more water it pushes).

Gear Ratio

Be sure to consider a propeller that allows the engine to operate within the manufacturer’s recommended Wide Open Throttle (WOT) RPM under normal conditions.
